What Time Are Disneyland Fireworks? 2026 Times, Nights + How Long

What time are Disneyland fireworks? Disneyland fireworks usually start at 9:30 PM. On some busy nights there are two shows, like 8:30 PM and 10:30 PM. Disneyland does not have fireworks every night, and times change, so always check the Disneyland app on the day you go. From November 13, 2026 to January 6, 2027, the fireworks show is “Believe… In Holiday Magic,” and it lasts about 15 minutes.

I grew up going to Disneyland at least twice a year, and I have watched the fireworks more than 50 times. It is always a good time. Here is everything you need to know about the fireworks: what time they start, which nights they run, how long they last, what happens if it rains, which characters fly over the castle, and the best places to watch.

What Time Are Disneyland Fireworks?

Most nights, Disneyland fireworks start at 9:30 PM. That is the time listed for the holiday fireworks on the schedules posted so far, like Tuesday, November 17 and Wednesday, December 2, 2026. On some busy nights, Disney adds a second show, so you might see two times, like 8:30 PM and 10:30 PM. Disney only posts show times about a month ahead, so check the app again closer to your trip.

Here is which nighttime show is playing at Disneyland Park and when:

Does Disneyland Have Fireworks Every Night?

No, Disneyland does not have fireworks every night. Fireworks usually run most nights during busy seasons like summer and the holidays. The rest of the year, they are mostly on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, plus holidays. Some nights have a projection show on the castle with no fireworks at all.

Do not skip a projections-only night. Sometimes Disneyland does just the projections on the castle with no fireworks, and honestly, they are pretty awesome with the music and everything. It is always a good time.

During the 2026 holiday season, the schedules posted so far show “Believe… In Holiday Magic” on weeknights too, not just weekends. That makes Christmas time one of the best times to visit if fireworks are a must for you.

What Days Does Disneyland Have Fireworks?

You are most likely to see fireworks on these days:

  • Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights all year long
  • Holidays and holiday weekends
  • Summer, when they often run most nights
  • The Christmas season, November 13, 2026 to January 6, 2027

Weeknights during slower times of the year are the most likely to skip fireworks. If you are only going for one night, pick a weekend night or check the app before you buy your tickets.

Is Disneyland Doing Fireworks Tonight?

The fastest way to find out is the Disneyland app. Look at the show times for Disneyland Park on the day you go. If fireworks are running, you will see the fireworks show listed with a time. You can also check the entertainment schedule on Disneyland’s website.

Check one more time in the evening. Fireworks can be canceled the same day for wind or weather, and the app is the best place to see last-minute changes.

How Long Is the Firework Show at Disneyland?

Most Disneyland fireworks shows last about 15 minutes. Disney lists “Believe… In Holiday Magic” at 15 minutes. Plan about 30 to 45 minutes total, counting the few minutes it takes to find a spot and the time it takes the crowd to thin out after.

During the holidays, do not leave when the last firework goes off. The Main Street snow starts right after the show ends. Here is everything about the Disneyland Christmas parade, fireworks, and snow.

Does Disneyland Do Fireworks in the Rain?

Sometimes. Light rain does not always stop the show, but Disney can cancel or change the fireworks for weather, and strong wind is one of the most common reasons. Disney says the fireworks are subject to cancellation without notice due to weather. If rain is in the forecast, check the app before you camp out for a spot.

From experience: Wind has canceled the fireworks on me many times. I would literally be in the crowd waiting for the show to start any minute, and they canceled it 1 minute before it was supposed to begin. It happens, and it sucks when it does, but just be aware that it can happen.

A rainy night can still be a great night at Disneyland. Here is what happens at Disneyland when it rains.

Does Disneyland Still Do Fireworks?

Yes, Disneyland still does fireworks, but the show changes during the year. “Wondrous Journeys” had its last show on August 20, 2026. The holiday show, “Believe… In Holiday Magic,” runs November 13, 2026 to January 6, 2027. Then Disney says “Remember… Dreams Come True,” the show first made for Disneyland’s 50th anniversary, comes back in February 2027 with new projections and fireworks on select nights.

Does Tinker Bell Still Fly at Disneyland?

Not during the holidays. The holiday fireworks show, “Believe… In Holiday Magic,” does not have a character flying over the castle. Its big finale is the Main Street snow instead. Tinker Bell’s famous flight from the top of the Matterhorn over Sleeping Beauty Castle is part of “Remember… Dreams Come True,” which Disney says comes back in February 2027.

One of the most fun parts of the Disneyland fireworks is watching a character fly from the Matterhorn over Sleeping Beauty Castle. I have seen all of the flyovers, and they are honestly so cool, because it is something fun and different. Who flies depends on which show is playing:

  • Tinker Bell: “Remember… Dreams Come True” (back in February 2027) and the classic “Fantasy in the Sky.” She has been flying over the castle since 1961.
  • Zero, Jack Skellington’s ghost dog: “Halloween Screams,” at the start and end of the show during Halloween Time.
  • Buzz Lightyear and the house from Up: “Together Forever,” the Pixar fireworks show from Pixar Fest.
  • Dumbo: “Magical,” a summer fireworks show that started in 2009.
  • Christmas season: No flyer in “Believe… In Holiday Magic.” The Main Street snow is the big moment instead.

Flights can be skipped on windy nights, even when the fireworks still go on. For the best view of a flight, pick a spot near the middle of the park where you can see the Matterhorn rising behind the castle.

Best Places to Watch and Real-World Tips

The fireworks are set to music, and the castle lights up with projections, so the best view is facing Sleeping Beauty Castle. The area around the Partners statue in the middle of the park is the closest spot, and Main Street, U.S.A. is great too.

My tip: As long as you are facing the castle, you can have a great experience. You do not have to get there early. You can show up right before the fireworks start and still find a good spot. I usually get there about 10 to 15 minutes before. You only need to get there an hour or more early if you have a large group, kids, or just extra time on your hands and want to be guaranteed the exact spot you want. It really depends on how much time you have and how you want to spend it.

We like to just duck under the ropes into a spot somewhere near Main Street or the castle, and I usually find myself standing by the Adventureland entrance. Honestly, I think it is less fun to be shoulder to shoulder with people who are too tall or have their phones out the whole time, blocking your view. I would rather find somewhere more chill.

Here are the things most people do not think about until they are standing in the crowd:

  • Want a guaranteed exact spot? Go an hour early. This is worth it if you have a large group, kids, or extra time on your hands. If not, you do not have to.
  • Cross the park before the show. Some walkways near the castle close or get crowded before the fireworks, so if you need to get to the other side of the park, go early.
  • You do not need a perfect spot to see the sky. You can see the fireworks from lots of places in the park, but the projections and music are best on Main Street and near the castle.
  • Use show time to ride. While big crowds are watching the fireworks, lines for rides away from the castle can get a little shorter.
  • Bring a warm layer. Nights get chilly, especially in winter. Here is what to wear to Disneyland, plus my locker trick.
  • Keep your phone charged. You will want to film the show. My favorite life hack is the phone charger kiosk in the locker area on Main Street. You pay once, and as long as you don’t lose it, you can swap your used charger for a fully charged one for free every time you go.
  • Pick a less busy night. My Disneyland crowd calendar shows the best and worst days to go.

Plan your exit. The second the fireworks end, almost everyone heads down Main Street at the same time, and it gets very slow. Grab a snack, browse the shops, or ride something for a bit, then leave once the crowd thins out.

My honest take: Magic Kingdom’s nighttime fireworks, with the castle projections, are the best fireworks show I have ever seen. It is one of the few things I think Florida does better than Disneyland! But Disneyland will always have a special place in my heart, because Walt built it and touched it himself.
